Fast Thyristor KK3600-(16...20) AS ENERGITM in disc design is a press pack type fast turn-off semiconductor device. This fast power thyristor designed for converting and control DC and AC currents up to 3600A with frequency up to 10kHz in circuits with voltages up to 1600V – 2000V (voltage class from 16 to 20). Thyristor dimensions ØDxØdxH – 110x73x26 mm (outer case diameter X contact surface diameter X case height), weight – 1440 g.

KK-series Fast thyristors are devices with reduced tq, trr, Qrr values and with a higher value (diT/dt)cr (up to 2500 A/µs) designed to operate at higher frequencies modes (up to 10kHz). Fast thyristors are characterized with a very low turn-off time that sets them apart from the standard models. They are used in welding, induction heating and melting, electric transportation, AC drives, UPS, and other systems requiring short turn-on and turn-off times. The thyristors have an industry-standard ceramic sealed housing isolating the functional part and the semiconductor element from mechanical impacts and environment.

The anode and cathode of the thyristor (polarity) are determined by the symbol on the case. Fast thyristors are in a press pack disc (capsule, tablet) housing. This fast thyristor can be an alternative product, replacement, analog, equivalent for other types of fast thyristors 3400A, 3500A, 3550A, 3570A, 3580A, 3590A, 3600 amp in a disk package.

For cooling during the operation of power thyristors they are mounted with coolers (heat sinks). Depending on the amount of heat generated and the working conditions of the semiconductors, either natural air flow cooling or forced cooling can be used.

When assembling, the necessary clamping force Fm specific for each type of thyristor package (indicated in the parameter table) must be provided.

Thyristors can be manufactured for use in temperate, cold and tropical climates. Thyristors of the disc type KK are used in various power converters (e.g. melting furnaces) where fast switching and control of currents is necessary.

Heat sinks for disc fast thyristors:

Heat sinks (radiators) are used for single- and double-sided cooling of power semiconductor devices in disc design.

Heat sinks of coolers are made of aluminum radiator profiles and do not require additional protective coating when used in various climatic conditions.

I'm Gizem, I'm a chemical engineer. I'm interested in making ceramic stuffs as a hobby. Would you please give some explanation about my questions below;
1) If I only mix SiO2 and Fe2O3 (3:1), can i get a suitable product without using other components?
2) Can i use water as fastener? or would you suggest me another fastener?
3) At which temperature should i mix them?

Hello, Gizem. The mass of ceramic is produced by grinding and mixing with water of different components: clay, feldspar, sand, kaolin. The proportions of these materials are different percentages, depending on what and with what characteristics you need to get a ceramic mass.
Each manufacturer of ceramic mass has its own recipes and its own raw materials, which are available in its region.
There are also books on ceramics that specify the chemical composition and approximate recipes for ceramic masses.
